Early Chapter Books - 50-100 page

The next stage in a child’s reading after early readers, these books have about 50-100 pages. These books have black and white line drawings that support and aid reading, and the story is divided into chapters. Early chapter books are meant for children who are confident readers.

Chapter Books - 100-200 pages

Chapter books or novels with 100-200 pages have strong stories with developed characters. The book is divided into chapters and with fewer illustrations thus encouraging the brain to translate words into visuals. These books are a measure of attention span, as indicated by the number of pages in the novel, and  emotional maturity, as measured by the complexity of the subject being dealt with in the book.

Chapter Books - 200-300 pages

These are books with 200-300 pages where the story is king. The book is divided into chapters and is typically devoid of illustrations thus encouraging the brain to translate words into visuals. The themes, vocabulary, and narration technique are interesting and are more complex for older readers.

Chapter Books - + 300 pages

These are books with 300 plus pages and if your child can read these books comfortably, then they are avid readers. The book is divided into chapters and is typically devoid of illustrations thus encouraging the brain to translate words into visuals. The themes, vocabulary, and narration technique are interesting and are more complex for older readers.
